How is the roof replacement range calculated?
The tool combines roof surface area with material, installation and removal allowances. It shows a budget range so you can compare options before arranging a roof inspection.
- Measure the roof surface. Confirm the detected building or enter a known roof surface area. House floor area is not roof area.
- Choose the covering. Compare three-tab shingles, architectural shingles and standing-seam metal.
- Read the scope. Pitch, mixed slopes, flashing, decking damage and site access can change the final proposal.
- Get the actual job priced. A contractor supplies their own written scope, schedule and price.
What does the range include?
Field roofing materials, a material-waste allowance, installation labor and removal/disposal allowances form the model. The result is a whole-roof replacement budget, rather than a price for repairing a leak.
Where do the pricing inputs come from?
Public retail roofing prices, national installation benchmarks and Washington wage data ground the model. Washington employee wages adjust the labor sensitivity; they are not contractor billing rates.

- O*NET/BLS roofer median employee wages
